Rules and Regulations of the Facilities, Sauna, and Child Protection Policy
Rules for Reservations and Stay at Borsuczyna Guest House, Chata Rysia & Chata Misia (Cottages), and Gościniec Horb (Facilities Regulations)
Facility Supervisor. If you need assistance, please contact: +48 797 13 03 07.
Reservations. Stays are reserved at the facilities. A “stay” is the number of nights for a specified number of persons on specific dates, as determined at booking. Bookings are nominative (in the name of a specific person). Any change to a confirmed booking is possible only with the consent of the persons managing the Facilities. A deposit of 30% of the price is required to confirm the reservation (50% for bookings made via booking.com), payable within 3 days of making the reservation. In case of cancellation and/or withdrawal from the stay, the deposit is non-refundable. The start date of the stay may be changed only to earlier dates than originally booked. Payment is due in full for the entire booked stay, regardless of any early departure or reduction in the number of guests. If the number of guests increases, the fee is recalculated according to the number of persons and the per-person rate in the current price list. The following details are required to make a reservation: the Booker’s first name, last name, mobile number, and email address. Bookings missing required information or containing data that does not allow us to contact the Guest will be cancelled.
Special reservation rules. Children up to 3 years old who do not use an adult bed stay free of charge. In high season, in guesthouses, double and triple rooms are charged for a minimum of 2 persons; apartments for 4–6 persons are charged for a minimum of 4 persons. Cottages are rented only as a whole unit. The cottage price in the price list applies to 4 guests; additional guests are charged per the current price list. On selected dates a minimum length of stay applies. The local stay tax for the Commune of Cisna is 2.50 PLN per person per day, payable in cash only, regardless of the accommodation price.
Payments. We accept cash and credit cards (VISA, MasterCard). Deposits can also be paid via platnosci.pl or bank transfer. Payment for the stay is collected in advance, before check-in.
Invoices. Guests who require a company invoice must inform us and provide the tax ID (NIP) at the time of booking and before making the final payment. Since 01.01.2020, invoices can only be issued to receipts that include a NIP number; therefore, the NIP must be provided at the time of booking, before paying the deposit.
Arrival. Check-in to guesthouses is from 15:00, to cottages from 17:00. On the day of arrival, please contact the Facility Supervisor (+48 797 13 03 07) and inform us of your planned arrival time. The Supervisor will attempt to contact Guests — please answer calls/SMS from +48 797 13 03 07. Guests are welcomed until 22:00. For later arrivals, please arrange this with the Supervisor. Due to registration requirements, you will be asked to complete registration cards and provide full details, including ID card or passport number. Check-in formalities and payment of the accommodation fee and local tax are completed on the day of arrival, before you are shown to your room/cottage. If the Guest does not arrive on the start date, the booking is cancelled.
Departure. Please vacate rooms by 10:00 on the day of departure. Keys must be returned to the Facility Supervisor. Guests planning a later departure should obtain prior approval from the Supervisor. If departure is delayed without prior approval, Guests will be charged for an additional night. If a room is not vacated without prior arrangement, the Guest’s belongings may be packed and placed in storage.
Room/cottage reassignment. Since the price for 2 persons in 2-, 3-, and 2–4-person rooms in the guesthouses is the same, these rooms are treated as interchangeable and reservations may be reassigned without notifying the Guests. The same applies to reassigning Chata Rysia and Chata Misia.
Valuables. We are unable to store valuables. We do not accept liability for loss of or damage to money, securities, jewelry, or other valuable items (e.g., laptops, cameras, mobile phones, etc.), or items of sentimental, scientific, or artistic value. Please do not leave such items in rooms.
Quiet hours. Quiet hours are from 23:00 to 07:00. Please respect other Guests’ peace throughout your stay.
Electrical devices. For fire safety, it is forbidden to use immersion heaters, irons, and other electrical devices that are not part of the room’s equipment. This does not apply to chargers and power supplies for electronic devices or electric shavers.
Charging electric cars. There are no EV chargers on the premises. 1-phase 230V and 3-phase 400V “blue” and “red” sockets are available. Charging is a courtesy service and must be agreed in advance with the Supervisor. We are not liable for the inability to charge vehicles or for any damage to vehicles being charged. The vehicle owner is liable for any damage to the facility’s electrical installation.
Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is available at the Facilities. Borsuczyna Guest House and the Cottages have fiber connections. Gościniec Horb has a 4G/LTE connection. Internet may be periodically slower (network congestion and/or transfer limits). At Gościniec Horb, access to streaming services, VOD platforms, and internet TV may be restricted. Most mobile networks provide 4G/LTE coverage in the area.
Pets. For Guests’ comfort, pets are not accepted. In special cases, a stay with a pet is possible at Chata Rysia and Chata Misia with prior individual approval from management, for an additional fee of 100 PLN per stay. If a pet is found on the premises without individual approval, a fee of 100 PLN per day per animal applies. A deposit of 500 PLN (cash only) is collected upon arrival from Guests with pets, to cover potential damages, and is settled after room inspection at check-out.
Sports equipment. Sports equipment — in particular bicycles, skis, ski boots, and other bulky items — may only be stored in designated areas. It is forbidden to bring equipment into other rooms/spaces than those designated or indicated by Staff. Violation of this rule results in an additional fee of 50 PLN per night per item and covering the cost of any repairs for damage caused.
Smoking. A strict no-smoking policy applies in all indoor areas, on balconies, in windows, and in the immediate vicinity of buildings. Smoking is only permitted next to outdoor ashtrays and at the fire pit.
Parking. Unsupervised free parking is available next to the Facilities for our Guests. Parking outside the designated parking area incurs an additional fee of 100 PLN for each commenced day of parking.
Vehicles. We accept no liability for Guests’ vehicles parked or driven on the premises, including any damage, collisions, and/or theft.
Room cleaning. During the stay, rooms are cleaned on request only and only for stays longer than 7 days.
Waste. Waste is sorted at the Facilities. Please follow the sorting rules. If room bins are full, please leave the waste at a location agreed with Staff.
Water. Each facility has its own water-treatment station. Between 02:00 and 04:00, the stations may perform auto-disinfection. We discourage bathing during these hours (disinfection with potassium permanganate — a strong oxidizer).
Toilets. They are connected to eco sewage treatment systems. It is strictly forbidden to dispose of any items, in particular sanitary products, diapers, wet wipes, packaging, plastic pieces, or food waste. In case of blockage of sewage/pump, an additional fee of 300 PLN applies.
Laundry. Guests of the guesthouses are welcome to use washing machines for a fee. In the cottages, washing machines are available free of charge for cottage Guests.
Heating. Heating is provided by gas boilers. During the heating season, thermostats are set to 21°C daytime and 20°C nighttime, controlled by a temperature sensor. If the measured temperature exceeds the setpoint, the boilers switch off. Cold radiators at a given moment do not mean the building is not heated. Additional heating in guesthouses is provided by water-jacket fireplaces connected to radiators; in cottages by forced-air fireplaces.
Lounge and kitchen in guesthouses. You are welcome to use the shared lounge and kitchen. Cooking in rooms is forbidden. In Borsuczyna Guest House and the cottages, a fully equipped kitchen is available. In Gościniec Horb, kitchen use is possible only when catering is not being prepared there, and after agreeing with Staff.
Balconies. In Borsuczyna Guest House, most rooms have a balcony. Children may use balconies only under adult supervision.
Windows. Please close windows before leaving the room, especially roof windows at Gościniec Horb. It is forbidden to lean out of/exit onto the roof through windows/roof hatches.
Fire pit / grill. Guests are welcome to use the designated fire pit and outdoor grill. Firewood can be purchased from us at 20 PLN per bundle.
Saunas. Sauna heaters are hot. Accidental contact may cause burns. Sauna temperatures may pose a risk to health/life. Please use the sauna responsibly and comply with any medical recommendations/limitations arising from your health condition.
Rules for using the playground, sports field, balconies, grill, fire pit, sauna, and hot tub. Guests use the above at their own risk. Children may use them only under adult supervision. The Owners/Supervisor accept no liability for the use of these facilities or for any resulting consequences and/or injuries. The hot tub is available 08:00–22:00.
Power outage. In case of power outages, breakfasts at Gościniec Horb will be served cold if preparation is possible. If breakfast cannot be prepared, it will not be served; Guests are entitled to a refund for undelivered breakfasts. No other compensation for power outages is provided.
Damage. Guests are liable for any damage or destruction caused. The Guest’s credit card may be charged for repair costs.
Lost property. Items left behind by Guests (except food and beverages, which are disposed of immediately) may be returned at the Guest’s expense. If the owner or address is unknown, items will be stored for one month and then donated for charity/public use or disposed of.
Breach of Regulations. In case of a breach of these Regulations, we may refuse to continue accommodating the person in breach. Such person must immediately comply with the Supervisor’s instructions, in particular pay for the entire booked stay, cover any damage/destruction, and leave the facility without delay.
Force majeure. In the event of force majeure — i.e., circumstances beyond the control of both the Guest and the Facility (e.g., state of emergency, riots, war/hostilities, strikes, natural disasters, epidemic threats or epidemics, legal acts including government or local authority orders) — before withdrawing from the contract, the Facility and the Guest shall attempt to agree on amended stay terms (changed date, duration, number of persons, selected Facility, or other arrangements). In such case, the deposit is non-refundable and is applied to the amended stay. If no new stay is agreed within 30 days from the start of talks, it is deemed that the stay is cancelled and the deposit shall be returned no later than within 14 days. If the start date of the stay falls more than 90 days from the day the Guest or the Facility declares intent to withdraw due to force majeure, the time to agree a new stay is extended from 30 to 120 days.
Making a reservation constitutes acceptance of these rules for reservations and stay. The binding version of the Regulations is published at https://pensjonaty-bieszczady.pl/rezerwacje/regulamin and is available in the Hotres system. Guests are bound by the Regulations as of the date of booking. We are not responsible for versions available on other websites.
SAUNA REGULATIONS
Please read these Regulations before using the sauna.
While using the sauna, you must strictly follow the operating instructions and any information provided by the guesthouse staff.
Only staff may change any sauna settings, in particular the temperature/heater.
Use of the sauna is at your own risk, subject to the points below.
The sauna is intended only for healthy persons.
Only adults may use the sauna independently; minors may use it only under the direct supervision of an adult (guardian).
Persons wishing to use the sauna confirm that they are physically able and in a state of health that allows use of such a facility, and they accept sole responsibility for their health. For minors, this confirmation is made by their guardians by allowing the child to use the sauna.
Users must maintain order and cleanliness in the sauna.
Before entering, it is recommended to wash with soap to remove cosmetics and impurities that may react to sauna conditions (elevated temperature/humidity). Remove jewelry, glasses, and contact lenses to avoid burns.
Recommended attire: cotton bath towels or swimwear made of 100% cotton.
While in the sauna, your entire body must rest on a towel.
The following are forbidden in the sauna:
entering beyond the vestibule in street clothes or shoes,
performing cosmetic treatments,
indecent or commonly offensive behavior,
smoking (applies to the entire guesthouse area and surroundings),
damaging or destroying equipment.
If you feel unwell, leave the sauna immediately, inform companions or staff, and consider calling medical assistance.
Sauna use is not recommended for persons whose condition does not allow it, including for example:
immediately after intense exercise,
persons with circulatory diseases,
persons with diabetes,
persons under the influence of alcohol,
pregnant women and women during menstruation.
Persons violating order or these Regulations will be asked to leave the sauna.
Using the sauna means that the user/guardian of a minor has read and accepts all the above points.
The facility’s staff and owners are not liable for accidents resulting from non-compliance with these Regulations or staff instructions.
CHILD PROTECTION POLICY (abridged version)
Preamble
In view of the legal obligation arising from the Act of 13 May 2016 on counteracting threats of sex-related criminal offences and the protection of minors, and in line with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, recognizing the essential role of business in ensuring respect for children’s rights, the Facility adopts this Child Protection Policy. This document sets out the rules and procedures applied when there is a suspicion that a child staying at the Facility is being harmed, and measures to prevent such risks, taking into account the situation of children with disabilities and special educational needs.
The Child Protection Policy is implemented in accordance with the following principles:
The Facility conducts its operations with respect for children’s rights as persons particularly vulnerable to harm.
The Facility recognizes its role in conducting socially responsible business and promoting desirable social attitudes. The Facility emphasizes the legal and social duty to notify law enforcement of any suspected offence against a child and undertakes to train its staff accordingly.
Glossary (selected definitions)
Tourist Facilities – hotel facilities and other facilities providing hotel services as defined in the Act of 29 August 1997 on hotel services and the services of tour leaders and guides.
Child/Minor – any person under 18 years of age.
Child’s guardian – the child’s legal representative (parent/guardian), foster parent, or temporary guardian (including a person authorized to represent a minor citizen of Ukraine staying in Poland without adult care).
Unrelated adult – any person over 18 who is not the child’s parent or legal guardian.
Child abuse – any behavior that may constitute a criminal act against a child by any person, including Facility personnel, or any threat to the child’s welfare, including neglect; any intentional or unintentional action/omission by an individual, institution, or society and any result thereof that violates children’s rights, freedoms, and personal goods and/or disrupts their optimal development.
Forms of violence against a child include:
Physical violence – actions/omissions causing or risking physical harm.
Psychological violence – chronic, non-physical harmful interaction (e.g., emotional unavailability/neglect, hostility, rejection, inappropriate interactions, failure to respect the child’s individuality/boundaries).
Sexual abuse – involving a child in sexual activity they cannot fully understand, lawfully consent to, or that contravenes legal/cultural norms; includes sexual exploitation (per UN Bulletin ST/SGB/2003/13).
Neglect – chronic/incidental failure to meet basic physical/psychological needs or respect basic rights.
Criminal offences against a child – include any crimes that can be committed against adults plus crimes specific to children (e.g., Art. 200 of the Polish Penal Code – sexual acts with a minor under 15).
Other harmful behaviors – violence that does not meet the threshold of a public-prosecution crime (e.g., shouting, humiliating, neglect).
Employee – anyone working under employment or similar contract (including interns/volunteers).
Employee working with children – anyone tasked with education, recreation, counseling, spiritual development, sports, or other minor-related activities, or care of minors.
Entrepreneur – the person/entity managing the Tourist Facility.
CHAPTER I. FACILITY STAFF
General rules
The Facility undertakes to educate staff on recognizing signs that a child on the premises may be harmed and on prompt, appropriate responses. Training may take various forms (external/internal, e-learning, educational materials).
Before starting work, each employee is acquainted with this Policy and confirms compliance by signed declaration (Annex 1).
Staff working with children undergo training documented by the employer.
The Owner is responsible for trainings.
Hiring staff to work with children
The Facilities do not hire staff to work with children.
Coordinator’s competencies and responsibilities
Oversight of the Policy lies with the Owner, acting as the Child Protection Coordinator (“Coordinator”).
The Coordinator acquaints staff with the Policy and monitors its application.
The Coordinator organizes/documents staff education on recognizing harm and appropriate responses.
The Coordinator records every intervention/incident related to harm in a designated log/register.
Where a crime is suspected, the Coordinator secures evidence and, upon request, forwards copies by registered mail or in person to the prosecutor/police.
The Coordinator conducts procedures where a child is harmed by a Facility employee.
The Coordinator monitors/updates the Policy and ensures availability to staff, partners, and Guests, including children.

Safe staff–child relations
Obligations for all staff:
Treat every child with respect, considering their dignity and needs.
No violence in any form is tolerated.
Expected practices:
Communicate with patience and respect; listen attentively and respond appropriately to age/context.
Ensure the child knows they can report discomfort to you or another designated person.
Inform the child where to find the Policy in a child-friendly version; invite questions.
Ensure equal treatment regardless of sex, orientation, ability/disability, social/ethnic/cultural/religious background or beliefs.
Ensure a safe environment (equipment used as intended; attention to windows/stairs safety, roads, open water, etc.).
If you see a child seemingly left unattended and at risk, take steps to locate the parent/guardian.
Prohibited practices:
Do not shout at, shame, humiliate, dismiss, or insult a child.
Do not hit, push, shove, or otherwise violate a child’s physical integrity (except to prevent imminent harm).
Do not engage in any romantic/sexual relations, make inappropriate proposals, sexual jokes/comments/gestures, or share erotic/pornographic content.
Do not record a child’s image (photo/video) for private/work use without consent of the parents/guardians and the child (except when the child’s image is an incidental detail of a crowd/landscape/public event).
Do not contact a child via private channels (personal phone/email/messengers/social media) or meet outside the workplace.
Do not offer alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances to a child.
Never touch a child who does not want to be touched or in a manner that could be considered indecent/inappropriate.
If you witness any above behaviors by others, inform the Coordinator.
CHAPTER II. PROCEDURE FOR IDENTIFYING A CHILD AT RECEPTION
An effective prevention method is to establish the child’s identity and their relation to the accompanying adult.
Reception staff take all reasonable steps to identify the child and their relationship to the adult.
Methods include: asking for the child’s ID or other document confirming the adult’s right to care (ID card, school ID, mObywatel app, Patient Online Account, court ruling). If unavailable, ask for the child’s data (name, surname, address, DOB).
If no documents or refusal to present them: ask both the adult and the child about their relationship (see Annex 2 sample script).
If the adult is not a parent/legal guardian, request a written parental consent (e.g., notarized) or a signed parental authorization including child’s data, address, parent’s phone, and the adult’s ID/PESEL. If absent, ask the adult to fill in the Facility’s statement.
If the adult refuses to show documents/explain the relationship, explain the procedure is for child safety and required by the Act of 13 May 2016.
If doubts remain (especially refusal to present ID/statement), discreetly inform a supervisor, keeping the child and adult within sight.
The supervisor continues the conversation to clarify. If an offence is suspected, the supervisor notifies the police and follows the procedure in Chapter III.
Employees witnessing unusual/suspicious situations must promptly inform the supervisor or, in their absence, the Owner.
The supervisor assesses the suspicion and either clarifies or initiates intervention and police notification.
PROCEDURE WHEN THERE ARE CIRCUMSTANCES INDICATING A CHILD IS HARMED BY AN ADULT
A reasonable suspicion exists when:
the child discloses harm,
an employee observes harm,
the child has marks (scratches/bruises) and answers inconsistently/with embarrassment, or other circumstances suggest harm (e.g., child pornography found in an adult’s room).
Actions:
The employee immediately informs the supervisor/decision-maker, who notifies the police. If there is an immediate threat, the employee calls 112 and describes the circumstances, and informs the Coordinator.
Make efforts to prevent the child and suspected adult from leaving the Facility.
If permitted by the Code of Criminal Procedure, an citizen’s arrest may be made when safe to do so; the person remains under supervision until police arrive.
Ensure the child’s safety; if possible, keep the child with a staff member until police arrive and offer support (see Annex 10).
If a crime may have involved biological material (semen, saliva, skin cells), try to ensure the child does not wash/eat/drink until police arrive; explain why.
After police take over, secure CCTV and other evidence for the Coordinator, who will provide copies to authorities upon request.
Report the incident to the Coordinator, who records it in the incident log.
CHAPTER IV. PROCEDURE IF A CHILD IS HARMED BY A STAFF MEMBER/OTHER ADULT
Anyone suspecting harm by a staff member/other adult must immediately inform the Coordinator.
If the child’s life/health is at risk, call 112, provide details (own, child’s if possible), location, and circumstances, and inform the supervisor/decision-maker, who notifies the parents/guardians; also inform the Coordinator in writing/email.
If the behavior does not constitute a crime but harms the child, the Coordinator investigates (hearing the suspected employee and witnesses). For significant violations (e.g., discrimination or dignity violation), the Coordinator recommends personnel measures to management.
CHAPTER V. PROCEDURE IF OTHER FORMS OF VIOLENCE BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN/OTHER ADULT ARE SUSPECTED OR CONFIRMED
Any employee witnessing harm by a parent/guardian/other adult must intervene firmly.
If life/health is at risk, call 112, provide details, and inform the supervisor/decision-maker; also inform the Coordinator in writing/email.
If witnessing physical violence (e.g., slapping, shaking, shouting), attempt to stop it and respond (see Annex 11 for response methods).
If a child under 7 is left unattended, inform the supervisor, who decides next steps per the Penal Code and Misdemeanor Code. Attempt to locate the parent/guardian/other adult and explain the child cannot be left unattended. If locating or resuming care is impossible, the supervisor notifies the police. In all cases, ensure the child’s safety.
