The guesthouse is located in Strzebowiska about 1500 meters from the Bieszczady Ringroad (obwodnica bieszczadzka).
To get to the ringroad, you will have to go through Zagórz, Lesko or Ustrzyki Dolne. You can also choose to go through Uherce Mineralne.
From Lesko: route 893 through Baligród to Cisna, then route 897 leading to Wetlina / Ustrzyki Górne. After you pass the Przysłup village, you will see a sign that reads “Strzebowiska 1”, where you turn to Strzebowiska.
From Zagórz (a way that is 15 km longer, but offers beautiful views, and makes you avoid traffic by the Lesko roundabout): route 892 to Komańcza, then route 897 through Cisna. After you pass the village of Przysłup, you will see a sign that reads “Strzebowiska 1”, where you turn to Strzebowiska.
From Ustrzyki Dolne: route 896 through Czarna / Lutowiska to Ustrzyki Górne, then route 897 leading to Wetlina and Cisna. After you pass Kalnica village, you will see a sign that reads “Strzebowiska 1”, where you turn to Strzebowiska.
From Uherce Mineralne: route 895 through Solina to Myczków. In Myczków take route 894 leading to Polańczyk. After you pass Wołkowyja and Bukowiec, turn right towards Terka, Buk and Dołżyca. In Dołżyca turn left and take route 897 leading to Wetlina / Ustrzyki Górne. After you pass the Przysłup village, you will see a sign that reads “Strzebowiska 1”, where you turn to Strzebowiska.
In Strzebowiska: when you turn after the “Strzebowiska 1” sign, go straight on until you go over a railway crossing, then turn left. The road will curve gently to the right. After 200 meters you will pass a railing between the road and the brook- turn left onto a gravel road that will lead you uphill. Pass all the other buildings and a crossing and go straight ahead. After another 200 meters you will see the Horb Guesthouse on your left.
Electronic navigation: TomTom, Garmin and other navigation programs will lead you to Strzebowiska, but they will not show you the exact way to our guesthouse.
The exact coordinates are:
Road serviceability and ploughing in winter. There are plenty of jokes and legends about the snow in Bieszczady Mountains. To be hones, it snows here a lot in winter, but it is a priority to the local government to keep the roads serviceable. The main roads (Bieszczady Ringroad) are serviceable at all times (note: there is a solid layer of snow on the road surface, as the roads are usually not gritted with salt). Village roads are ploughed after it stops snowing, but many inhabitants will clear the roads using their own ploughs in the meantime.
We strongly suggest to use winter tires when necessary, otherwise you might have serious problems with driving on the uphill roads. Cars with two-wheel drive will most likely require the use of snow chains. Cars with all-wheel drive should do just fine without the chains. In winter it is good to take a towing cable and a snow shovel with you. All the drivers will do their best to help you – should you find yourself in trouble – and will be grateful for your help as well.
Please be aware of the roadsides in the winter, for some of the ditches may be hardly visible. Falling into a snowy ditch usually does not result in any serious damage, but you will need the help of another car or a plough to pull your car out (we checked it out for ourselves a couple of times!).
